Serious side effects with Retin-A are not likely, but it's always possible to have an allergic reaction to any medication, even those applied to the skin. If experiencing any of the following symptoms, stop using Retin-A and seek emergency medical care:

• shortness of breath
• closing or constricting of the throat
• swelling of the face, lips or tongue
• hives or other extreme skin irritation

If any other symptoms become severe or bothersome, talk with a doctor to adjust the dosage and use.
