Retin-A

Retin-A can make the skin more sensitive to the sun, so be careful to avoid exposure to sunlight or sunlamps. Always use at least an SPF-15 sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors.

It's also a good idea to avoid using any products that can irritate the skin, such as soaps, chemicals or any products containing benzoyl peroxide, sulfur, resorcinol or salicylic acid. Avoid skin care products with alcohol, spices, astringent or lime.

When first starting to use Retin-A, the skin may appear to get worse. Mild to moderate skin irritation during early treatment is normal; however, be sure to talk with a doctor about any concerns.

Retin-A Drug Interactions

Always be sure to tell a doctor or pharmacist about all the medications currently being taken or used, even over-the-counter and natural/vitamin products. Benzoyl peroxide and Retin-A can neutralize each other when used at the same time.
